The incident occurred around 1:00 AM last Sunday, when officers were alerted via 112 to an emergency in Plaça del Mercadal, located in the center of the capital of La Noguera region.
Upon arrival, the patrol confirmed that the individual had suffered cardiorespiratory arrest. The rapid assessment of the situation led the officers to immediately initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers without delay.
The Balaguer City Council highlights the training, composure, and professionalism of the officers, an action that demonstrates how speed and coordination among emergency services can make the difference between life and death.
The decisive intervention by the Local Police was crucial in keeping the person alive until the arrival of the Medical Emergency System (SEM). Once stabilized by the paramedics, the victim was evacuated to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida, where they are currently reported to be out of danger.
