The incident occurred around 11:42 AM, as a client was setting up their caravan's awning in the camping area. Powerful winds, reaching up to 92 kilometers per hour in Montsec, lifted one of the panels, striking people passing nearby.
One of the injured minors was transported in a less serious condition to Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida by an ambulance from the Medical Emergency System (SEM). The victims suffered cuts from the impact of the sheet metal.
“"One of the gusts lifted one of the panels and hit the clients who were passing by."
The campsite owner, Cel Feliu, stated that she could not recall a wind episode of such intensity since Storm Gloria in 2020. She noted that wind often causes incidents at camping establishments, as awnings and similar elements, despite being secured, can become airborne during such strong gusts.
In addition to this event, Feliu mentioned that the campsite's ornamental lighting unexpectedly turned on during the morning, though it was eventually switched off. Sources from the Camarasa Town Council confirmed that Civil Protection informed them of the incident, and they inquired about the condition of the injured.
