Balaguer to host the 34th Catalonia Special Olympics Basketball Championship

Over 450 athletes with intellectual disabilities will compete in the capital of Noguera on March 8th.

The city of Balaguer is set to host the 34th Catalonia Basketball Championship on Sunday, March 8th, organized by the ACELL Federation – Special Olympics.

The event will take place at the Inpacsa Pavilion and the 1r d'Octubre Sports Center, featuring 450 athletes from 28 clubs across Catalonia. A total of 630 people, including staff and volunteers, are expected to attend.

Six teams from the Lleida region will participate, contributing 83 athletes to the competition. The day will conclude with a trophy ceremony and a manifesto reading for International Women's Day to promote female participation in sports.
