The town of Camarasa concluded this Saturday the eighth edition of Firanit, the Proximity Commerce Fair, after two days of activities focused on nature, gastronomy, heritage, and local products. Rain was a significant factor on Friday afternoon, disrupting the night market's development.

The opening day on Friday began with great dynamism. In the morning, a nature workshop led by Bushcraft Montsec allowed participants to explore the river confluence area and identify local flora. At midday, the municipal pools hosted a proximity cooking workshop taught by Delfí Solsona, from the restaurant Manicomi, focusing on easy dishes with seasonal products and food waste reduction.
Friday afternoon experienced a significant disruption due to heavy rain that fell during the market setup. Nearly 20 liters per square meter prevented some of the 26 planned stalls from being installed and affected part of the night market. Despite this inconvenience, Firanit resumed activities at 9:30 PM in the Plaça de l'Església, where gastronomic stalls and a DJ set helped restore the festive atmosphere.
The rain, despite the problems it caused, was also welcomed for the coolness it brought after days of intense heat, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy public spaces again once the heaviest downpour passed.
One of the most notable proposals of the afternoon was the Experiència Roca dels Bous Immers, which uses virtual reality glasses to explore the archaeological site. This activity attracted numerous people interested in discovering the Neanderthal past of Camarasa.
The eighth edition of Firanit concluded on Saturday with the family workshop “A la vora del foc: neandertals a la Roca dels Bous” (By the fire: Neanderthals at Roca dels Bous), held at the municipal pools. This activity introduced the public to the daily life of Neanderthals and highlighted the importance of the Roca dels Bous site.
Despite the meteorological difficulties that affected the market, Firanit has reaffirmed its aim to be more than just a night market. The combination of nature, gastronomy, heritage, education, local products, and music characterized this edition, which continues to focus on revitalizing the municipality and valuing its resources and identity.
