The acquisition of the plot, located next to the cemetery, was finalized last Thursday. According to a municipal statement, this operation addresses a long-standing need in the Noguera municipality and will improve access and parking for visitors.
The council plans an initial provisional site preparation to have the area ready by November. In parallel, work is underway on a definitive project scheduled for execution next year, aiming to adapt the space to the town's needs and consolidate its uses related to the cemetery.
The transaction was made possible through the cooperation of the Torredeflot-Lladós family, whom the council thanked for their willingness to contribute to the municipality's improvement. This new acquisition will provide Cubells with a key space to organize and enhance access to a significant facility for its residents.
Furthermore, council representatives met with the head of the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) station in Balaguer to discuss security and coexistence matters. The meeting reaffirmed the mutual willingness to collaborate between both institutions.
