Seven municipalities across the Noguera, Urgell, and Pla d'Urgell regions have introduced El Cor de l'Oest, a joint project designed to promote local heritage and combat rural depopulation.

The initiative connects Penelles, Castellserà, Bellmunt d'Urgell, and four other towns, using the Castell del Remei as a central historical landmark. The project aims to offer high-quality, sustainable tourism experiences, focusing on nature, culture, and photography.
Key attractions include the Gargar Festival murals in Penelles, the Ivars and Vila-sana Lake, and the Urgell Canal heritage. The program is funded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, targeting visitors looking for authentic rural experiences.
