Serious injury after paragliding fall in Vilanova de Meià

Firefighters activated a helicopter with GRAE to rescue a paraglider who suffered a fall in Noguera.

A paraglider was injured this Thursday after suffering a fall in Vilanova de Meià. Emergency services received the alert at 12:39 PM, and the Firefighters activated a helicopter with the GRAE and a ground unit, accompanied by the SEM doctor.

The incident required the mobilization of an emergency response team, including a helicopter with the Emergency Rescue Action Groups (GRAE) and a ground unit from the Firefighters, as well as medical support from the Emergency Medical System (SEM).
This was not the only significant incident in the region during the day. In Fígols, a 72-year-old climber was rescued due to indisposition. In Alcarràs, a scooter rider was injured in a collision with a vehicle. Additionally, in la Seu d'Urgell, on Mare Jané street, a minor was hit by a vehicle. Finally, in la Vall de Boí, a 70-year-old hiker was rescued after a fall.
In another notable event, eight people sustained moderate injuries in a multi-vehicle collision in Maials. The accident occurred at kilometer 102 of the C-12 road, heading towards Lleida, involving two trucks and a van. Six of the van's occupants were transported to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida, while the other two were treated at the Mora d'Ebre hospital. The truck drivers were unharmed.
