The emblematic establishment, located in the historic center of Balaguer, closed its doors last February, raising concerns about the loss of a cultural landmark. However, the bookstore has begun a new chapter this April, as reported by the newspaper LA MAÑANA.
The change in management has been key to the business's continuity. Jaume Casals, who led La Noguera for over 40 years, has transferred the bookstore to Jordi Sala. Casals, 79, had announced the definitive closure due to not finding a successor, but several individuals expressed interest in keeping the bookstore on Carrer Major in Balaguer alive.
La Noguera's new phase promises to maintain the establishment's essence, incorporating new releases and a carefully curated selection of books. Among the elements that will define this new offering are editorial novelties, backlist titles, true crime books, and a section dedicated to children's literature.
