One dead, four injured, including two minors, in head-on collision on C-14 in Artesa de Segre

The accident occurred Sunday afternoon at kilometer point 102, forcing the road to be completely closed to traffic in both directions.

A driver died and four other people, including two minors, were injured with varying degrees of severity in a head-on collision between two cars on the C-14 in Artesa de Segre on Sunday afternoon.

The incident was recorded shortly before 6:30 p.m. at kilometer point 102 of the C-14 road, within the municipality of Artesa de Segre. The fatality was the driver of one of the vehicles involved.
In addition to the deceased driver, the Catalan Traffic Service (Servei Català de Trànsit) confirmed that two people sustained serious injuries. Furthermore, two minors suffered less serious injuries in the same collision.
Following the accident, four patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra, ten units of the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters), who performed extrication tasks, and seven units of the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) were rapidly mobilized.
The exact causes that led to the head-on collision between the two vehicles are currently under investigation. The road disruption was significant, as the C-14 was closed in both directions near Artesa de Segre, with traffic diversions established through the town center.
