The Servei Català de Trànsit confirmed yesterday that the 38-year-old driver who lost his life in the head-on crash on the C-14 road, within the municipality of Artesa de Segre, was a resident of Viladecans.
As a result of the serious accident, which occurred on Sunday, four other people were injured, including two minors. The Mossos d'Esquadra are keeping the investigation open to determine the exact causes of the collision.
In a separate accident reported on the same day, a 77-year-old man was injured in a road departure on the L-310, in the municipality of Plans de Sió. The victim was evacuated to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida.
Furthermore, the Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) assisted their counterparts in Aragón following an accident on the A-140, near Alfarràs, where one person was trapped after a van overturned. They also responded to a landslide warning on the N-145, in Valls de Valira.
