The emergency call was received via the 112 phone number, alerting authorities to an indisposed person on a public street in Balaguer during the early morning. A Local Police patrol quickly deployed to the scene.
Upon arriving at Plaça Mercadal, the officers confirmed the severity of the situation and immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers to keep the person alive.
Thanks to the quick and professional action of the officers, the affected person was stabilized and is now out of danger.
This emergency action was essential to buy time until the arrival of professionals from the Medical Emergency System (SEM), with whom the officers coordinated to continue assistance.
Once stabilized by SEM paramedics, the individual was transferred to the Hospital Universitari Arnau de Vilanova in Lleida, where, according to municipal sources, they are currently out of danger.
