The meteorological situation, characterized by temperatures that may exceed 40 degrees, has raised the risk of forest fires to critical levels. Faced with this scenario, Protecció Civil and the Agents Rurals have decided to apply restrictive measures in wooded areas to minimize the risk of forest fires.
In the Noguera region, the limitations directly affect municipalities such as Alòs de Balaguer, Artesa de Segre, Camarasa, Foradada, Ponts, Tiurana, and Vilanova de l'Aguda, in addition to Baronia de Rialb. In these locations, level 4 of the Pla Alfa has been activated, which entails a total ban on carrying out activities with fire risk in forest lands and their 500-meter protection strip.
These measures are in addition to the activation of level 3 of the Pla Alfa in a large number of Catalan municipalities, where all activities that had previously been authorized or communicated have been suspended. Authorities insist on the need to exercise extreme caution while the intense heat episode continues.
