A severe wind storm caused significant power and telephone service outages yesterday across several municipalities in the Noguera region, particularly affecting Castelló de Farfanya and les Avellanes.

In les Avellanes, residents were without electricity for five hours, while Castelló de Farfanya experienced intermittent cuts and a total loss of mobile signal. Miquel Plensa, president of the Noguera Regional Council, confirmed that Os de Balaguer also faced unresolved issues late into the day.

"In Castelló de Farfanya there were intermittent cuts for approximately 45 minutes and they also lost mobile phone service."

Endesa sources explained that safety protocols triggered network disconnections due to high winds. The storm also impacted the Pyrenees, where FGC closed ski resorts like Espot and Port Ainé after gusts reached 138 km/h.
