The incident occurred around 11:45 AM, when intense wind gusts caused a metal sheet, part of a caravan awning, to detach. The Bombers de la Generalitat received the alert, and the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) attended to the injured.
According to the SEM, the woman and one of the minors were transported to Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital in Lleida for medical attention, while the other minor did not require transfer. All three sustained minor injuries, primarily cuts caused by the sheet.
“"In one of the gusts, the wind lifted one of these sheets and hit customers passing nearby. They had cut-type injuries caused by the sheet."
Cer Feliu, manager of La Noguera campsite, explained that the sheet belonged to a client using construction materials to set up an awning. Feliu noted that he could not recall a wind episode as intense as this Sunday's since storm Gloria, adding that within the campsite, wind can be more problematic due to the structures of awnings, which sometimes detach without serious consequences.
In addition to this incident, a small fire involving ornamental decoration also occurred on Sunday morning but was quickly brought under control. Feliu concluded that 'these things happen when there is a lot of wind'.
