The Transsegre festival, in its 41st edition, will once again be held with its usual format of two descents down the Segre river on July 11, 12, and 13, after years of reduced routes.

The river festival, scheduled for mid-July, will reintroduce the Saturday descent from Camarasa to Sant Llorenç de Montgai. This section had been suspended in previous editions due to drought and lack of water flow, leading to the complete cancellation of the event in 2023.

"We are recovering the essence of before Covid."

Despite the return to the traditional format, the organization has set a limit of 100 participating boats to ensure safety and the preservation of the natural environment. This measure involves reinforced controls by the organization and the Paeria de Balaguer, with a special focus on participants' civic behavior and responsible alcohol consumption during the descents.

"Alcohol and water are not a good combination."
