The accident took place at kilometer 51. Emergency services, including the Mossos d'Esquadra, were notified at 10:53 PM. The victim's car collided with an SUV for reasons still under investigation by local authorities.

Five people traveling in the SUV sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital. The emergency response included five Firefighter crews and four Medical Emergency System (SEM) units.

This fatality brings the total number of people killed on Catalonia's roads in 2026 to 12, according to provisional data from the Catalan Transit Service.
