The final stages of the road works in Aiguafreda have concluded this week, including the installation of benches and solar-powered speed regulators.

The works, which lasted five months and covered a two-kilometer stretch, included pavement renewal with milling, surface leveling, and the application of a new wearing course. Intersections were also specially treated with a colored, non-slip surface layer to improve braking and enhance safety, particularly near pedestrian crossings. Additionally, the pavement of the designated parking areas along the central section of the road has been differentiated.
The project also involved renewing the drinking water supply network, replacing the main pipeline that runs along the road and distributes service to both sides. This intervention aims to reduce leaks and optimize water consumption. Furthermore, the biomass network has been extended to the Casal Sant Jordi.
The works were financed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputación de Barcelona, and the Ajuntament d’Aiguafreda's own resources.
The City Council reminds the public of the importance of respecting speed limits and driving cautiously along the entire urban stretch to ensure the road is a safer space.
