The celebration will take place in Sant Martí del Brull from 8 AM to 5 PM, with free admission and activities designed for all audiences, especially families and children.
A key highlight will be the transhumance, where a flock of sheep will depart from Mas Montanyà early in the morning, traveling to Sant Martí del Brull. This activity, scheduled between 8 AM and 9:30 AM, will allow participants to accompany the flock and learn firsthand about this traditional practice. Pre-registration is required by calling the El Brull Town Hall (93 884 00 41), and comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear are recommended.
Between 11 AM and 1 PM, the sheepdog trial competition will take place, showcasing the skills of working dogs and their coordination with shepherds. Throughout the day, there will be an animal exhibition featuring various livestock species found in the region, such as cows, sheep, goats, and chickens.
The festival will also include demonstrations of traditional rural crafts, such as wood construction, wool processing, and workshops on traditional cooking and popular knowledge, alongside participatory family activities.
Regarding talks, at 10 AM, Víctor Rojas, a transhumant shepherd, will discuss 'Transhumance and the Wolf in the 21st Century.' At 1:30 PM, David Santiago, an expert in working dogs, will give a talk on sheepdogs. At 3:30 PM, a round table will discuss new ways to market lamb and kid meat, with participants from Ramats Montseny, the Singulars project, and the El Brull Town Hall.
The fair area will feature local producers, artisans, and rural initiatives. Gastronomy will play a significant role with a tasting of products made from lamb and kid meat, in collaboration with the Escola d’Hostaleria d’Osona. Drinks and a food truck will also be available.
Younger attendees can enjoy a special activity starting at 4:15 PM, where they can become little shepherds and practice dog training under the guidance of Moi Tarrés.
