The company, with roots in Osona, has obtained the patent for this technology, which uses advanced communications such as NB-IoT and LoRa. This system allows small amounts of data to be transmitted from remote areas, overcoming the limitations of existing solutions and improving the management of spaces with high tourist pressure. The system's commercialization is planned for the spring of 2027.
The development has been supported by ACCIÓ, the business growth agency of the Departament d’Empresa i Treball, through the advice of its Intellectual Property team. The project stems from Anigami's experience in managing natural areas in Osona with high visitor numbers.
According to Gerard Costa, CEO of Anigami, the goal is to provide visitors with information for informed decision-making, preventing conflicts and risks. This autonomous technology will enable territories to redistribute visitor flows and prevent overcrowding.
Data collected by the sensors will be sent to a server and accessible via web or mobile applications for managing bodies. This information can be integrated into other platforms, such as websites, risk maps, or emergency systems.
The technology is already being applied in municipalities like Rupit (Osona), which receives approximately 200,000 visitors annually despite having fewer than 300 inhabitants. Pilot tests have also been conducted on river beaches of the Ter River and in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, where sensors operate with satellite connection in areas without mobile coverage.
As a result of this development, Anigami has created the spin-off Talaya Systems, to which it has transferred the patent to explore new applications of territorial sensing. Costa emphasizes that Anigami is a territory-rooted company seeking solutions to current problems, requiring the development of proprietary technology for this purpose.
Anigami, founded in 1992 in l'Esquirol, has evolved from adventure sports to active tourism, ecotourism, territorial consulting, and risk management. The company has a permanent team of about 15 people and has participated in international projects in over 60 countries.
This initiative is part of the Catalunya Business Innovation Strategy 2026-2030, promoted by the Government and led by ACCIÓ, which aims to increase business aid and enhance their competitiveness and innovative capacity.
