According to a resident's complaint, the fireworks took place on the evening of Saturday, September 12th, in front of the tanneries. The complainant inquired with the organizers about a permit from the Guàrdia Urbana (Local Police), receiving an affirmative response. However, upon contacting the Guàrdia Urbana, they were unaware of any authorization and dispatched a patrol to the scene.
The main grievance concerns the possibility of holding a private fireworks display on a public street without any fencing or safety barriers, allowing people to pass nearby. Questions were also raised about using fire during dry conditions and its proximity to flammable structures, such as the tanneries and private gardens.
“"I think it's a great recklessness, a privilege for people having a private party..."
The situation has initiated a discussion regarding the regulation and oversight of private pyrotechnic events in urban settings, particularly concerning resident safety and heritage protection.
