On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons 2026, the La Plana Mancomunitat has organized an activity combining culture, heritage, and gastronomy. The proposal includes a guided tour of Besalú, followed by lunch.
The activity will take place on two dates, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th October, and is aimed at the elderly residents of the participating municipalities.
During the day, attendees will explore the heritage of Besalú through a guided tour. This will cover emblematic sites such as the bridge, the church of Sant Pere, the mikveh, the synagogue excavations, and an audiovisual presentation about the town.
After the tour, at 2 PM, lunch will be served at the Restaurant Can Nou. The menu features beans from Santa Pau with seafood clams as a starter, veal with mushrooms as the main course, a choice of dessert, and beverages including water, wine, bread, a glass of cava, and coffee.
The day begins at 9:15 AM with a coach departure from Taradell and Tona. The guided tour «Discover Besalú» starts at 11 AM, followed by lunch at 2 PM. The return to Taradell and Tona is scheduled for 5 PM.
The activity costs €30. Registrations can be made from October 5th to 14th by calling the La Plana Mancomunitat at 93 812 54 45. Places are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment will be in cash on the day of the excursion.
The Town Hall encourages seniors to participate in this day of celebration and community, designed for enjoying culture, gastronomy, and companionship.
