This summer, 125 people participated in the activities of the “Inclusive Health and Nature along the Ter River” project, supported by Dipsalut. Throughout this year, a total of 22 workshops have been organized, reaching 346 individuals.
The project, now in its thirteenth consecutive year, aims to promote knowledge of nature and health, engaging a wide range of groups. Environmental education and awareness activities began in early March and continued until the end of September.
The proposals were led by local entities, companies, and nature associations. Of these activities, 9 were organized this summer and involved 125 participants.
Activities aimed at specific groups included a rural electric bike outing and a scientific fishing workshop in Torroella de Montgrí-l’Estartit (July 16 and 20), a nature photography outing in Girona (July 31), a guided kayak descent on the Baix Ter (September 8), a medicinal plants workshop in Girona (September 10), a Nordic walking outing in Sant Joan de les Abadesses (September 10), and a medicinal plants workshop in Ripoll (September 16). Participants included users from Fundació TRESCat, Fundació Resilis, Fundació MAP, and the Servei d’Intervenció Educatiu de Càritas del Baix Ter.
Regarding open activities, two kayak discovery tours of the lower course of the Ter river were organized: one on June 27 for residents of Serra de Daró, and another on September 19 for residents of Fontanilles, Albons, Garrigoles, and Pals.
