The protest, lasting about 30 minutes, affected the northbound lanes. Employees are denouncing the company's silence and lack of response to their demands for negotiation regarding the plant's future, particularly in light of the ongoing dismantling of the production unit.
The Gurb factory has stopped processing and packaging milk for brands like Lidl and Llet Nostra, an operation that constituted 50% of its production capacity. Workers fear this production is being redirected to Leche Pascual's facilities in Aranda del Duero.
Protests began on May 11th, after the announcement of the production center's acquisition by Casa Tarradellas and following a lack of agreement in mediation talks on May 7th. On that date, the transfer of the UHT processing lines from the Osona plant commenced.
This action follows previous demonstrations outside the plant, where workers are voicing their discontent over the company's failure to engage in collective bargaining.
