The activities combined a guided tour of the municipality in La Garrotxa with a fellowship lunch at the restaurant Can Nou. These days were dedicated to discovering heritage, fostering coexistence, and strengthening social relationships, providing a space for cultural engagement and reinforcing social bonds beyond daily life.
The president of Mancomunitat La Plana, Pere Medina Serrahima, highlighted the importance of these events: "Activities like these go beyond a cultural outing. They are an opportunity for older people to connect, share experiences, and continue actively participating in community life. The participation of 218 people demonstrates the importance of continuing to promote meeting and coexistence spaces among our towns."
These outings are part of the Mancomunitat's initiatives to promote active aging, social participation, and the well-being of seniors. The commemoration of the International Day of Older Persons serves to recognize the role of this group in the community and encourage activities that contribute to maintaining an active life and enriching social relationships.
This initiative is part of the "Caring for People" axis of the Mancomunitat Action Plan (PAM) 2023-2027, responding to the strategic objective of caring for the elderly. The Mancomunitat La Plana is composed of 14 towns in Osona and El Moianès.
