The «De Tu a Tu» project connects volunteers with young people aged 14 to 22 who live in residential centers of the Generalitat de Catalunya or lack local role models. The aim is to offer them accompaniment, guidance, and support in their life and emancipation journey.
The conclusions from the first edition, prepared by Dr. Marta Garcia-Molsosa, a researcher at UVic-UCC, highlight the learnings and opportunities for both young people and mentors, as well as the project's contribution to building support networks.
Mentors from the first edition shared their experiences, emphasizing the importance of adult role models and significant connections for young individuals.
The second edition of «De Tu a Tu» expands its territorial reach and strengthens collaboration among administrations, services, and social entities.
A call is made for individuals over 28 years old to become mentors, requiring approximately one hour per week. No prior professional experience is needed, only a willingness to accompany and build a trusting relationship with a young person.
Interested individuals can contact the program at 616 83 38 95 for more information.
The project is driven by the Table for Childhood, Adolescence, and Families of Osona and Lluçanès, co-led by the Youth and Childhood, Adolescence, and Families areas of the Consell Comarcal d’Osona, with participation from the region's protection resources and the Coordinadora del Voluntariat.
