The September plenary session was marked by mobility issues. The municipal government announced the launch of a new bus service that will feature eight main lines, two school lines, and a specific connection for Sentfores-La Guixa. This renewal includes the addition of eight modern vehicles, four of which will be hybrid and four fully electric.
In addition to free travel for specific groups, the new service will set a general price of 0.50 euros per trip. The Mobility Councilor highlighted that the goal is to encourage the use of public transport among all citizens, including on weekends and holidays.
Furthermore, the council approved the installation of eight information panels at the city entrances. These devices will provide real-time data on parking availability in 13 municipal surface parking lots, aiming to organize traffic and avoid unnecessary travel through the city center.
In the cultural and historical sphere, the plenary unanimously ratified Vic's adherence to the manifesto for the millennium of the Assemblies of Peace and Truce. This commemoration, which highlights the figure of Bishop Oliba, will feature a program coordinated among various local and academic institutions to disseminate the importance of this historical movement in building peace and coexistence.
