The Montesquiu City Council has installed 18 aluminum plaques next to some of the municipality's storm drains with the slogan "Don't throw anything away, the river starts here," to raise citizen awareness about the impact of waste on the environment.

With the aim of raising awareness about environmental respect and care for the municipality, children and young people from Montesquiu carried out the installation of these plaques. The action took place within the "Viu la Terra" (Live the Earth) workshop series.
During the plaque installation, it was observed that several drains in the town were full of plastics and cigarette butts, indicating that much of the waste thrown into the street ends up in the river and the surrounding environment.
This initiative aims to prevent such uncivil behavior, reminding people that the street is not an ashtray and that maintaining a clean, sustainable town that respects nature is a shared responsibility.
The City Council thanks all the children and families who participated in this campaign.
