The gathering, organized by the Roda de Ter Seed Bank, the Red de Semillas (Seed Network), and the Xarxa Catalana de Graners (Catalan Seed Network), is supported by the Consell Comarcal d’Osona (Osona County Council), the Fetaosona brand, and various local entities. This year's edition changes location to highlight different seed conservation projects.
The main event, open to the public, will take place on Saturday, October 17, at the Escola Mare de Déu del Sòl del Pont. From 10 AM to 6 PM, attendees can visit an exhibition space for the exchange and dissemination of local varieties.
Osona's commitment to local products and the territory is demonstrated through its collaboration in this initiative, part of the 'Productes de la Terra' (Products of the Land) network of the Diputació de Barcelona (Barcelona Provincial Council).
The program includes round tables on seed libraries, sowing workshops, the 'Taula de Savis' (Table of Sages), a popular lunch, a tribute to Jaume Fernàndez, traditional games, a grafting demonstration, and a documentary screening as part of the IV Etnobotanical and Agroecological Cinema Showcase.
On Friday, October 16, a presentation-tasting of Fet a Osona Aliments Excel·lents (Made in Osona Excellent Foods) products will be held, organized by the Xarxa Productes de la Terra, to showcase the quality of Osona's agri-food products.
This event aims to connect producers, entities, researchers, and citizens to share experiences and knowledge about seeds, local varieties, and sustainable food systems, bridging the past, present, and future of agriculture.
