The Mancomunitat La Plana has opened a new call for the Cures i Comunitat program, aimed at foreign nationals who care for the elderly or wish to train in this sector, with the goal of professionalizing and dignifying their work.

Following the success of its first edition, the program promoted by the Servei d'Acollida i Convivència of the Mancomunitat provides tools and knowledge to improve care for individuals, while also fostering a space for meeting and mutual support. Content covers comprehensive care, aging, dementia, stimulation techniques, basic care, and the sector's legal and labor framework.
The project was initiated with the aim of promoting a more dignified, just, and sustainable care model, connecting the elderly receiving care, their families, and the caregivers. It seeks to improve care and working conditions, recognize the work of caregivers, and facilitate access to support and advisory resources.
The president of the Mancomunitat, Pere Medina Serrahima, emphasizes that this initiative enhances training and employment opportunities in the care sector, contributing to the dignity of work essential for community well-being.
Interested individuals can register by calling 938 125 445 or emailing acollidaiconvivencia@mancoplana.cat until October 29th. The program will commence on November 5th at the Espai Muriel Casals in Tona.
This initiative is part of the strategic objective Promoting Community Action and Social Cohesion within the axis Caring for People of the Mancomunitat Action Plan (PAM) 2023-2027.
