The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, has announced the preparation of an autumn aid decree to incentivize farmers in Pallars Jussà to join the irrigation project in the Tremp basin.

These grants aim to encourage and incentivize farmers to join the project, which already has an investment of over 9 million euros from the Catalan executive for the installation of 2.5 kilometers of the main pipeline.
The president highlighted that the irrigation scheme "will radically transform the Tremp basin for the better", benefiting approximately 4,500 hectares of crops belonging to over a thousand landowners. The irrigators' community stated that the aid will provide "security and viability to the entire project".
Salvador Illa visited the construction sites in Tremp and Talarn, accompanied by the president of the Irrigators' Community, Josep Durany, the mayor of Tremp and delegate of the Government in the Alt Pirineu i Aran, Sílvia Romero, among other regional representatives.
The irrigation project, initiated fifteen years ago and resumed last September after a company's bankruptcy, foresees the completion of the main pipeline works this year. The Generalitat covers 70% of the irrigation cost, with the remaining 30% borne by the irrigators.
Josep Durany, president of the irrigators, hopes the Government's agreement will materialize in autumn to provide "security and viability" to the project. He also urged the Government to expedite other pending projects, such as the secondary and primary network and land consolidation, to prevent the loss of generational succession.
