The Conca de Dalt City Council is carrying out an initiative to recover and value the trenches and bunkers of Vilanoveta, in Aramunt. This site is considered a unique historical heritage in Catalonia, as the Vilanoveta trench is notable for being the longest and best-preserved cement trench in the region.
The project, supported by a grant from the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs (IEI) within the framework of aid for actions on memorial heritage and democratic memory, includes two main actions: the cleaning and adaptation of the site, and the installation of interpretive signage.
Cleaning and clearing tasks have already been completed, restoring the visibility and accessibility of the historical remains. Currently, the signage for the trenches is being finalized to historically contextualize the space and facilitate visitor understanding.
Through this initiative, the council of Conca de Dalt reaffirms its commitment to preserving historical heritage and recovering the region's historical memory.
