After being stalled for years due to a company bankruptcy, construction resumed this September. Workers are currently installing 2.5 kilometers of main pipeline near the Noguera Pallaresa river, specifically within the municipalities of Tremp and Talarn.
“"These works will represent a massive social and economic improvement for the entire Tremp basin."
The project covers 4,500 hectares and includes a new 40-hectare expansion in the Ínsules area. This addition will allow local farmers to begin irrigation as early as next spring, ahead of the completion of the secondary network.
The new system is also designed to provide emergency drinking water to seven municipalities. Despite using a water concession dating back to 1911, the modern infrastructure will allow farmers to irrigate twice the current land area using the same amount of water.
