Firefighters have brought under control several forest fires that broke out in Pallars Jussà on Monday afternoon, mainly in the La Tossa area between Salàs de Pallars and Talarn, caused by lightning during a storm.

A vegetation fire broke out this Monday in a remote area of La Tossa, located between the municipalities of Salàs de Pallars and Talarn, in Pallars Jussà. The alert to Emergencies was received at 4:53 PM.
Initially, the fire intensified due to strong gusts of wind, reaching 70 km/h, coinciding with the arrival of a storm. Once the storm moved away, the fire's intensity decreased.
Ten fire crews and two helicopters worked at the scene to extinguish the flames.
According to investigations by the Agents Rurals, several small forest fires in the Pyrenees region were caused by lightning strikes following the storms this afternoon.
The fires recorded in the Pallars Jussà and Sobirà areas are now stabilized or controlled. These include the fires at Bony de la Mina, in Alt Àneu (3 PM); Salàs de Pallars (4:53 PM); Tremp, Gurp barranc del Graeller (5:25 PM); Abella de Conca (6:29 PM); and Talarn (7:42 PM).
