Hunter injured after wild boar attack in Abella de la Conca

A 62-year-old man from Andorra was airlifted to safety following a confrontation with the animal.

A 62-year-old hunter from Andorra was seriously injured this Sunday in Abella de la Conca after being charged by a wild boar during a local hunting expedition.

Emergency services were alerted at 11:47 AM regarding an incident near the L-511 road. The victim suffered a deep leg wound after a boar, weighing approximately 60kg, turned on him after being shot and wounded.

"The hunter shot the boar and the animal, feeling wounded, attacked him. I had never encountered a situation like this before."

The GRAE mountain rescue team and SEM medical staff deployed a helicopter to evacuate the man to La Seu Airport, where he was met by an ambulance for hospital transport.
