The Junts per Catalunya party in Pallars Jussa has formally requested the County Council to immediately postpone the new door-to-door waste collection model launched this February.

The system was implemented this Thursday in la Pobla de Segur, Salas de Pallars, Talarn, and el Pont de Claverol. Junts has described the rollout as a major mistake, claiming that the lack of public consensus will lead the project to failure.

"We cannot accept this rushed application. Both the mayor and the president of the county council have made a mistake."

A key point of the dispute is that the regulation approved on January 29, 2026, is still under public review. The party argues that starting the service before the final approval of the ordinance shows a lack of institutional respect for citizens' rights to file objections.
Due to the perceived lack of communication and growing neighborhood opposition, a protest has been organized in la Pobla de Segur for this Sunday at 11:30 AM.
