During the presentation, four representative wines from the DO Pirineus were tasted: La presumida (Terrer de Pallars), Taleia (Castell d’Encús), Nummulit (el Vinyer), and this year's fair wine, also from the Castell d’Encús winery, a blend from the 2019 vintage.
Oenologist Raül Bobet, from the prestigious Castell d’Encús winery, offered a profound reflection during the event, moving beyond wine to discuss the territory's future, the importance of aesthetics, and landscape as defining elements of Pallars, drawing parallels with regions like Burgundy.
Bobet emphasized that "the future is landscape" and that people seek authentic experiences. He advocated for being "very serious when defending what we have here in Pallars", promoting excellence over volume competition. "We cannot compete in volume, we must compete with excellence", he stated.
The oenologist highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among the territory's various sectors: "We must unite for the language, unite for the landscape, unite for the restaurants, unite for the culture, unite for the wine, and unite for the people". He concluded that Catalonia's strength lies in mutual support and cohesion.
