The Generalitat Firefighters received the alert at 1:20 PM and three units from the Tremp and Sort stations were dispatched to the scene. After locating the man, who was seriously injured, they began providing medical attention until two SEM ambulances arrived. Tragically, the paraglider passed away.
Sources close to the incident indicated that the accident may have been caused by a fall onto electrical wiring before landing. The Mossos d'Esquadra deployed five patrols to investigate the circumstances.
“"Notification of the death to the victim's family would be made through the British consulate."
This incident follows two other recent fatalities related to mountain activities. On Tuesday, a man died after falling down a ravine in the Restanca area, Naut Aran, and on Saturday, a hiker lost their life after falling about a hundred meters in the Medacorba pass, Alins.
In mid-May, another paraglider, a 67-year-old Argentine national, died from injuries sustained in a fall in Àger, La Noguera, near the usual launch area of Montsec.
