The Department of Agriculture has completed the renovation of the LV-9124 road in Sant Esteve de la Sarga, just as new landslides have cut off the main village entrances.

The project involved a 261,745.87 euro investment to upgrade over three kilometers of road connecting Beniure and Coll d'Ares. Executed by Asfaltats i Equips de Vialitat SL, the works aimed to provide safe access for the residents of Alzina and the surrounding rural areas.
Despite the upgrades, recent rainfall has caused the road to collapse in two locations: the entrance from the N-230 and the C-13 side. Diputació de Lleida engineers are currently working on emergency solutions to restore transit in this geologically unstable area.

"The city council cannot take responsibility for the maintenance or safety of our roads."

Jordi Navarra · Mayor of Sant Esteve de la Sarga
Mayor Jordi Navarra has called for the urgent construction of a bypass, citing the high risk of rockfalls. The local administration maintains it lacks the budget to manage a road that suffers from constant closures during rainy episodes.
