The Pallars Regional Hospital in Tremp and the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida will launch a regular medical drone transport service starting this summer.

This pioneering project in Catalonia aims to improve healthcare equity in rural and mountain areas. The drone flight will reduce delivery times from 75 minutes by road to just 40 minutes, ensuring faster transport for blood samples and medicines.
The initiative, supported by the Government of Catalonia, reduces CO2 emissions by 98% and significantly improves the clinical quality of biological samples by providing a smoother transit than conventional road transport.
