The Tremp City Council has joined the Viles Florides de Catalunya project, an initiative that values municipal green spaces and promotes more environmentally friendly practices.

This adhesion, driven by the Confederació d'Horticultura Ornamental de Catalunya (CHOC) with the support of the Catalan Tourism Agency, primarily aims to highlight the importance of parks and gardens as meeting points, leisure areas, and contributors to an improved quality of life for citizens.
The Viles Florides program distinguishes municipalities that dedicate efforts to maintaining well-cared-for green spaces, featuring a notable presence of flowers, trees, and landscaped areas, in both public and private domains. The ultimate goal is to progress towards creating more pleasant and sustainable towns and cities.
The local council has emphasized that this participation represents recognition for the work already undertaken in the care and promotion of urban greenery. Furthermore, it is seen as an opportunity to continue developing this line of action. In this regard, measures have already been implemented to optimize water saving, such as modifying drip irrigation systems and planting plant species and flowers with reduced water requirements.
The Viles Florides initiative has consolidated in recent years as a hallmark of environmental and landscape quality throughout Catalonia, promoting greener municipalities committed to the well-being of their inhabitants.
