The Government of Catalonia has announced the temporary withdrawal of the medical helicopter based in Tremp until March 2026, as part of a major emergency service restructuring.

The contract with Eliance, the company previously managing the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) bases in Girona and Móra d'Ebre, was terminated due to repeated service failures, including delays in replacing damaged aircraft.
During this interim period, only three helicopters will cover the territory from bases in la Seu d'Urgell, Girona, and Reus. This reorganization means the Pallars Jussà base will remain inactive for several months.
SAF Helicoptères has taken over the management of the affected bases. A new public tender for the permanent management of all four regional helicopters is expected to be finalized by 2027.
