The accused acknowledged the facts in a conformity hearing held at the Court of Lleida. Initially, the Public Prosecutor's Office sought four years in prison for crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation in an inhabited dwelling and drug trafficking. Finally, they have been convicted of theft and a lesser offense against public health.
According to the final ruling, one of the women stole 1,300 euros from the ex-partner of the other. At the time of their arrest by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police), officers seized 1,900 euros in cash and 6.65 grams of cocaine, allegedly intended for sale.
The events occurred in the early hours of November 18, 2022, when the two women entered a home on Hospital street in Tremp. One of them, who had recently been in a relationship with the owner, took advantage of a conversation to steal the money.
The judge imposed a sentence of six months in prison for the theft offense and one year and six months for the offense against public health, as well as a fine of 402 euros. The Court has agreed to suspend the prison sentence provided the women do not re-offend within the next three years. The convicted women will also have to jointly and severally compensate the victim with 1,300 euros.
