Civil Protection has activated the Ventcat emergency plan in Pallars Jussà and across Catalonia due to severe wind forecasts starting this Thursday.

According to the Meteocat weather service, gusts will be particularly strong in the Pyrenees. In Pallars Jussà, the danger level is 4 out of 6, with potential snowdrifts in high altitude areas.
Authorities urge caution during outdoor activities and travel. Many trees are unstable following recent rains, increasing the risk of falling branches. Landslides on local roads are also a possibility.
The CECAT coordination center has notified all affected municipalities. Residents are advised to secure balconies and avoid parks or forested areas until the winds subside on Friday afternoon.
