The plenary session of the La Pobla de Segur City Council approved last Friday the municipal budget for 2026, amounting to 9,970,000 euros and foreseeing significant investments.

The approval of the annual accounts occurred with six votes in favor from ERC and five abstentions from PSC and Junts. This budget is the first to integrate actions derived from the Neighborhood and Village Plan, which is reflected in an income forecast of 1,600,000 euros.
Most expenses are concentrated in investments, with two million euros allocated to the execution of ten of the projected actions within the Neighborhood and Village Plan, out of a total of five million budgeted in this chapter. Among the most relevant investments, two million euros are earmarked for the Mountain Education Building.
Other significant projects include the improvement of the sidewalks of the old Cooperative and Avenida Catalunya, with a budget of 300,000 euros through the PUOSC. The construction of services at the football field is also planned, at a cost of 162,000 euros, and the renovation of the dome of Casa Mauri, with 45,000 euros.
Within the framework of the Neighborhood and Village Plan, the 2026 budget also contemplates the creation of a Management Office, which will involve staff hiring. Furthermore, the deployment of social programs focused on intervention with newcomers and people at risk of social exclusion will begin, as well as initiatives for active aging and the fight against unwanted loneliness.
