The La Pobla de Segur City Council has joined the Generalitat's Neighborhood and Villages Plan, securing over 12 million euros to boost 23 infrastructure and social projects over the next five years.

The public program by the Generalitat de Catalunya, lasting five years, will provide 9 million euros directly, while the remaining 3 million will be sought through other subsidies. Mayor Marc Baró highlighted the importance of this economic injection for the future of the municipality.

"This money is like winning the lottery."

Among the 23 planned actions, two major investments stand out, both valued at over 2 million euros each: the construction of a municipal public swimming pool (possibly covered) and the creation of a new cultural space intended to revitalize social and cultural activities.
More than 2 million euros will also be allocated to reforming Sant Miquel del Pui avenue and the Arbre square, in addition to improving access to the industrial estate. The goal is to offer 12,000 square meters of land to attract new companies and create jobs.
Given the demographic composition, where 25% of the population is over 65, the plan includes improvements to the Nostra Senyora de Ribera residence and aid to improve the accessibility of private homes. These measures seek to modernize the town and attract young families.
