This FGC initiative seeks to boost the local economy through its historic trains. The Turistren Passport is a digital system that allows users to register their journeys on the six included tourist transports, earning discounts and the chance to win a commemorative gift and participate in a draw if they complete the route before December 31, 2027.
The Lakes Train, which began its 2026 season today, connects Lleida with the Alt Pirineu, traversing impressive landscapes and spectacular gorges. For this year, 29 circulations have been scheduled: the Historic Train will make 23 trips every Saturday from April 11 to June 27, and again from August 22 to October 31. The Panoramic Train will offer 6 trips between July 4 and August 8.
During the journey, an onboard tourist guide provides detailed information about the route, the landscape, and the train's history. The Lakes Train runs along the Segre and Noguera Pallaresa rivers, from Lleida to La Pobla de Segur, passing through the regions of Segrià, Noguera, and the mountainous area of Montsec, reaching the heart of Pallars Jussà. The two-hour, 89-kilometer journey crosses 4 lakes, 40 tunnels, and 75 bridges, offering unique panoramic views.
Once in La Pobla de Segur, visitors can explore various options, such as the Interpretation Center of Pyrenean Fauna and Nature, the Espai Raier, the Molí de l'Oli, the Casa Mauri, or the Fàbrica de Licors Portet. An optional stop can also be made in Tremp or Cellers. In Salàs, the museum shops are noteworthy, and in Tremp, the Epicentre, the Geoparc Orígens Visitor Center, offers tourist and cultural information about the region.
Tickets for the Lakes Train include a round trip on the same Saturday, with the option to return to Lleida on the regular line train within the following six days. Reservations can be made in advance through the Turistren online store.
