The Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition began works this week to improve the pavement of the C-1311 road in the municipalities of Tremp and Pont de Montanyana. This action is part of the Generalitat's Sustainable Paving Program, which aims to improve road safety and driving comfort while reducing the carbon footprint of construction.
The project will enhance the pavement condition over a three-kilometer stretch. Minister Sílvia Paneque highlighted that the work includes the use of materials and techniques that reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 25% compared to conventional methods. "The Government is advancing road safety and the decarbonization of mobility," stated Paneque, emphasizing the investment effort in improving the road network, with a total of 50 MEUR allocated for all of Catalunya in 2026, of which 7.5 MEUR are designated for roads in Alt Pirineu i l'Aran and the Lleida region.
The works, covering the section between kilometers 0.5 and 3.5 of the C-1311, will cause traffic disruptions. The road will be completely closed until October 23rd. The alternative route is the N-260 between Pont de Suert and Pobla de Segur. Road users are advised to plan their journeys in advance.
