Acting President Albert Dalmau announced in Tremp the immediate tender for the study to unblock the Xerallo-Pont de Suert section of the N-260 and the improvement works for the Comiols mountain pass.

The Minister of the Presidency acting as President, Albert Dalmau, made the announcement during the "Connectem el Pirineu" (Connecting the Pyrenees) meeting held in Tremp. The tender for the informative and environmental impact study of the N-260 section (Pyrenean Axis) between Xerallo and El Pont de Suert ends a blockage that had lasted thirty years.
This action, which is part of a management order from the State Government to the Generalitat, includes the construction of a 2-kilometer tunnel within a total 6-kilometer route between Perves and Viu de Llevata.

"It cannot be tolerated that there is a two-speed Catalonia. The Pyrenees is not a quota, but a land of opportunities."

Albert Dalmau · Minister of the Presidency acting as President
Dalmau also confirmed the tender for the improvement works on the Comiols pass, specifically between Pont d’Alentorn and Vall-llebrera, budgeted at 22 million euros, with work expected to start next autumn. Furthermore, 10.5 million will be allocated for the improvement of the C-28 in the Sorpe area and an additional 3 million for avalanche prevention measures in Bonaigua.

"The N-260 is the backbone of mobility in the Pyrenees."

Carlos Prieto · Government Delegate in Catalonia
Finally, the Minister announced that in March, the first section of the fiber optic installation along the 433 kilometers of the Pyrenean Axis will be tendered. This initial section will cover the 47 kilometers separating Puigcerdà from La Seu d’Urgell.
