Germanic philologist Júlia Carreras Tort, born in Barcelona in 1988, has found her calling in Pallars Sobirà, dedicating herself to the research of Pyrenean folklore and ethnobotany from her shop Occvlta Pirineus in Esterri d'Àneu.

After a background in Germanic philology, Júlia Carreras decided to shift her career towards popular culture and the heritage of the Pyrenees. She currently resides in Esterri de Cardós and manages the physical store of her project, Occvlta Pirineus, located in Esterri d'Àneu.
Her work has become a reference in the study of Pyrenean folklore and ethnobotany, noted for its rigor and insight. Carreras specializes in the history of witchcraft, a field she approaches with a combination of academic research and traditional craftsmanship.
Through traditional candlemaking, Júlia Carreras seeks to unearth and recover ancestral knowledge in a contemporary context increasingly dominated by digitalization, offering a unique perspective on the preservation of the Pyrenees' cultural legacy.
