The C-28 highway will remain closed for at least five days between Port de la Bonaigua and Baqueira following a landslide that has severed the main road link between Pallars Sobirà and Val d'Aran.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night when a 60-meter long and 8-meter high retaining wall collapsed. Authorities from the Territori department reported that the closure affects the stretch between kilometers 37 and 46, where unstable rock formations have been identified.
Drivers must now take a detour lasting nearly three hours via La Pobla de Segur and Pont de Suert. Local mayors, including Pere Ticó from Esterri d'Àneu, have renewed calls for the construction of a tunnel to prevent such isolation during heavy rains or snow.

"We hope everything goes quickly and that the necessary investments are made for proper maintenance of our roads."
